| The Group's principal activities are to develop, manufacture and market biotechnology products. It operates through five segments: Therapeutics: Includes products for the treatment of genetic diseases and other chronic debilitating diseases. Renal: Consists of products for the treatment of renal diseases, including chronic renal failure. Biosurgery: Includes biotherapeutics and biomaterial products, with an emphasis on products that meet medical needs in orthopaedics and broader surgical areas. Genetics: Consists of vitro diagnostic products with an emphasis on point of care products for the in-hospital and out of hospital rapid test segment, clinical chemistry reagents and raw materials focused on the clinical laboratory. Transplant: Comprises of therapeutic products for the treatment of immune-mediated diseases. On 03-dec-2007, the group acquired Diagnostic Assets of Diagnostic Chemicals Limited. |
